for sure…the author, Mr. Peter Wehner is a hard man and will always stand tall for what’s right.
I usually ignore politicians and political reporting because I’m not interested in BS wrapped in BS but in the last week, I started to watch Trump’s broadcasts on the pandemic. It’s been painful.
This morning I watched a press conference given by NY governor Cuomo. In a calm reassuring manner, Cuomo painted an extensive picture of the current situation in his state and briefly the country using charts to clarify his report. He was informative, genuine, even inspirational as he recognized the contribution of the people sacrificing much to fight on all the fronts in this war. After his presentation, he answered reporters’ questions who were seated with a 6’ separation in a straightforward manner.
I was struck with the feeling that I had switched from watching a cartoon featuring a group of earnest scientists under the direction of a self aggrandizing clown who shall remain nameless (Trump) to one controlled by a responsible adult.
Is there any possibility that this man could represent the democratic party in the next election instead of blundering Biden? It might even inspire me to vote.
PS Full disclosure: I have no political agenda and I know nothing about the governor’s political views other than he’s a democrat.
Tune in for the nightly Presidential talk show:
POTUS45 needs to pivot to a late night talk show format, or risk loss in Nielsen ratings. Geraldo Rivera as sidekick. Kanye West, band leader. Short punchy monologue. Jokes on Hillary. Punch line: "Quarantine her!’ Audience goes wild. Then Dr. Fauci with his report (maybe with a leggy assistant), followed by Dr. Nick Riviera (dean of Trump University) with zany antics; how many thermometers he can hold in his mouth at one time, etc.
Sponsored by makers of hydrocholorquine and azithromycin.
Depending on what you consider the core issues most important to you, I would recommend doing some research into this before considering voting for him for president. His stances on gun control and immigration make him an immediate and non-negotiable non-starter for me.
His nice press briefings can in no way come close to overcoming those flaws.
Yeah, I have an inkling but I have more confidence in him than Biden if a democrat gets elected. Either way I won’t crowd the voting stations unless I get a clear answer to these 2 simple questions.
- How can you justify restricting law abiding citizens from owning guns if you can’t solve the gun carnage in the inner cities that is fueled by the drug trade?
- How many countries can you name that have no borders?
Peter Wehner has been reading my mail.
Whoa whoa whoa…I will not flaccidly stand by while Mr. Wehner is disparaged. 'Ol Peter is a stand up guy with a reputation of rising to the occasion and spitting in the eye of tyranny when he comes across it.
If anyone doubts Mr. Wehner’s resume, it is impressive both with its length and breadth:
The Atlantic is lucky to have their hands on Peter Wehner.
I had no intention of disparaging Mr Wehner. If I had written that Mr Wehner had been reading my mind you may have got my drift. I agreed entirely with what he said.
My apologies, perhaps I’ve been too hard on Peter Wehner.
I see these briefings from Ohio, West Virginia, and Kentucky constantly as I live in a tri-state area Then there is the national briefings with “the usual suspects”.
I’m still waiting to hear Trump and Pense.offer us information for making assifidity bags to wear around our necks…like back in the good old days.
