Our Monday night, 22:00 local, a few nights ago, the mate on watch & a few client on deck reported the night sky lit up to a faint daylight for a fraction of a second. They said it was like someone flipped a daylight switch on for a half second then turned it off again. We figured it was a large meteor entering the atmosphere right above us. I would pay money to see a show like that. Or maybe it was the company in this ABC news article setting up their gear in outerspace?

Thanks for the chuckle. By all means, continue to feel sorry for them but there were no poor Americans or even many Trump supporters buying the types of cars you described. Even the Tesla Cyber Truck! I know hundreds of republican Trump supporters & not a single dang one of them own a house payment equal Tesla vehicle. Look at the demographics/income of Trumps red-wave voters? Then look at the demographics/income of those who were likely to buy the very expensive Teslas? Then look at who is vandalizing/burning who’s cars down? Don’t shed no tears for the poor, blue colar, non-college educated Americans when it comes to those super sleek German cars that you thought they could afford before. I could go on but I think you get the picture. Unions & blue collar American manufacturers, those who gave Trump a decisive victory might love these tariffs. As for Fiats, Lamborghini, Peugeots & Bentleys, I ain’t never seen a Trump bumper sticker on any of those parked at the Dollar General.

It was Monday evening, March 24, that Unni Lillesæter from Dovreskogen spotted something that looked like a spiral moving in the night sky over Dovre.
– It moved incredibly fast, says Unni, who believes she saw it all between 9 and 10 o’clock on Monday evening.
She can also state that there was no wind at all and she did not hear any sound.

She received the explanation shortly after she shared the photos on Facebook, as the phenomenon was also reportedly discovered in Skåne in southern Sweden, and supposedly in several places in Europe.

Probable SpaceX rocket

The BBC also reports sightings in the UK, and believes it is likely due to a SpaceX rocket launch in the US.
– The Falcon 9 rocket from Elon Musk’s space company lifted off at around 1:50 p.m. local time in Florida on a classified US government mission. The Falcon 9 is a reusable rocket. After launching into space, it releases what is called the payload – whatever it is carrying, such as a satellite, to complete its mission – which continues its journey into space. The rocket then turns back towards Earth. As it does so, it ejects any remaining fuel, which instantly freezes due to the altitude in a spiral pattern caused by the rocket’s motion. This information is also consistent with the explanation Vigga presented by Pål Brekke at the Norwegian Space Center.
– It’s not that unusual with rocket launches, but it can be a bit unusual to see a spiral like that. You have to be in the right place on Earth to be able to see it. It has to be evening where you are, and the sun has to shine on the rocket, even if it has set behind the horizon. These are usually 4–5 kilometers up in the air. At the same time, the rocket has to rotate, and it doesn’t always do that, Brekke says.

He adds that it is related to the launch carried out by SpaceX a few days ago, which formed a kind of light chain in the sky .

Not the first time

In 2009, a similar phenomenon caused a stir in northern Norway, and spread around the world. The so-called Norwegian spiral anomaly of 2009 appeared in the night sky over Norway on December 9, 2009.

The following day, the Russian Defense Ministry issued an explanation that a missile test had failed.

According to a spokesman, the missile’s first two stages had operated normally, but there was a technical failure in the third stage.

Russian defense analyst Pavel Felgenhauer told the AFP news agency at the time that “such lights and clouds appear from time to time when a rocket fails in the upper atmosphere, and this has been reported before. This failed test created a beautiful fireworks display for the Norwegians.”

That’s some cool stuff, thanks for sharing ombugge. I wouldn’t have guessed frozen dumped rocket fuel. I’ve stared at the auroras & noticed how they sometimes move like flames or clouds. I figured that spiral to be some freaky auroras space tornado?

On the micro level: during the Apollo and Gemini programs the astronauts said one of the most beautiful sights to see was the daily urine dump from the space craft. It would instantly crystallize and surround the spacecraft in a growing, glowing cloud.

They called it ‘The constellation Urine’ (rhymes with Orion). So I could see how this phenomenon could be caused by a dump of rocket fuel.

Are these plants making all the parts of the cars, or just assembling cars from parts imported from abroad?
If the last they will probably be hit by import duties, while American car manufacturers that import parts from Canada and Mexico under USMCA will escape (??)
