Hi, I have enrolled in a Bachelor of Naval Architecture at the Australian Maritime College in Tasmania. When I graduate I will be 46 years of age. My question is ‘is age a factor in being employed in this industry’ or does experience weigh more? I am planning on obtaining work experience in a related field while at University, but am not sure if this will be enough. My work life competency consists of building a 7.5 m plate alloy boat and trailer. I would appreciate any insiders perspective.
