The client, as well as the contract’s commercial terms and conditions, have been kept undisclosed under a confidentiality agreement.
Of note, Kongsberg Maritime was appointed last year to upgrade the Normand Sentinel from AZP 120 CP mechanical thruster to RD-AZ2600 rim-drive azimuth thrusters, said to allow fuel savings of up to 16% during transits and up to 40% in DP mode.
Any idea for who and where she will be operating?

More news from the small but active group of OSV owners in Fosnavåg:
Shipowner legend retires
On Monday, Havila chief Per Sævik turns 85. At the same time, he handed over the helm of Havila to the next generation.

– One must understand one’s limits. I have three descendants who are all active in our companies in different areas and who have far better qualifications to take the company forward than I ever have, states Per Sævik in a press release.
In connection with his 85th birthday on Monday, he is retiring and letting his children Vegard, Hege and Njål continue to lead the ship. This means that the three of them will now have control of Havila Holding AS.
The change will take effect from the new year. Vegard Sævik will then take over as CEO of Havila Holding. At the same time, Njål Sævik will continue as chairman of the board and responsible for the offshore investment, while Hege Sævik will continue to be responsible for the tourism investment.

Over the years, Per Sævik has been, among other things, mayor of Herøy, parliamentary representative for the Christian Democratic Party, president of the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association, chairman of the board of the Norwegian Fishing Boat Owners’ Association, Maritime Forum and Health Mid-Norway. In 2012, he was appointed Knight of the 1st Class of the Order of St. Olav for his efforts in the shipping industry.
– I have never been obsessed with power or positions. For me, it has been about getting something done, creating jobs and giving people a reason to live and work along the coast. Private fortune creation and local ownership are crucial for a vibrant Norway, says Per Sævik.
The Havilagruppa is a family-owned group with headquarters in Fosnavåg and Havila Holding as its parent company. The group has around 1,500 full-time employees and in 2024 had a turnover of NOK 3.2 billion.
CONGRATULATIONS PER!!

Not only tanker rates and gasoline prices are affected by the attack on Iran (by any name but WAR):
Short-term operational uncertainty should be balanced by the need to maintain multi-year operational routines, writes Todd Jensen, associate director at MSI. The exposure of offshore oil and gas infrastructure in the Middle East ultimately depends on...

The Middle East Gulf, including Iran, currently hosts c. 612 AHTS and c. 250 PSVs, representing 24% of the global AHTS fleet and 13% of the global PSV fleet, with utilisation levels of 83% and 72%, respectively. Given the close link between offshore production and construction activity and vessel demand, any precautionary shut-ins or delays to development campaigns would result in lower utilisation of the OSV fleet.

Today 28. March 2026:
We are proud to share that Marin Teknikk’s Multi-hull Design, MT6067 “ELISA”, has successfully been launched in Gdansk, Poland:
Photo: Marine Teknikk
After many years of development, it is a great milestone to finally see the vessel afloat. The hull has been constructed at Montex, and the vessel will be towed to G. Y. Kleven in Norway for final completion.
Operated by OMV Petrom, ELISA will operate on the Romanian continental shelf as a Walk-to-Work and accommodation vessel for up to 90 personnel, supporting a offshore platform for gas production with logistics, maintenance and workshop capabilities.
A key feature of the vessel is Marin Teknikk’s Motion Compensating System (MCS), enabling safe gangway operations in sea states up to Hs = 4.5 m. By reducing vessel motions, the design increases operability, extends weather windows, and improves working conditions offshore for both crew and equipment.
The system is fully passive, requiring no energy consumption, contributing to a more sustainable offshore operation.
This project also demonstrates precise weight control and Marin Teknikk’s naval architecture execution, with the vessel floating exactly at its calculated waterline.
We look forward to following MT6067 “ELISA” through the final stages and into operation.»
