Working on foreign flagged tanker ships my entire career. Have my MMC Chief Engineer National credentials and I am trying to get STCW OICEW and Chief Engineer. Though I ve taken courses necessary some NVIC tasks are missing. The Captain is only one above me on ship (marshall island licensed) signed rest of the tasks but will CG give me a hard time? anywhere I can go have them signed off here in the states?
I will be looking into this more. The NVICS usually state signatures from a person with the appropriate STCW endorsement (and sometimes how long they have held that endowment) so I can’t see why not.
I would however get a copy of the signers STCW credential Incase the USCG requests info on their credentials.
