Norwegian Tanker Grounded in Alaska
I’m also worried that the good people of Hammerfest might remember me from that week when they managed to get all the management level people helo’d out to the boat before the weather got too bad to fly. They left us totally without adult supervision. It is completely possible that I’m no longer welcome. Golly, I never want to eat Peppes again.
They’ll probably forgive you for whatever mischief you got up to. After all they are used to visiting fishermen and Navy personnel, so it can’t be all that bad.

As for Peppe’s Pizza I can see why you revolt. Why eat Pizza when you can have local food?
Next time try the excellent whale beef, seal flippers, or reindeer steak at one of the local eateries. King Crab is also good.

Of course you may prefer the more liquid lunch at the new place called “Iron Curtain”: http://www.jernteppet.no/om-oss.html

So what’s the word with this incident? I have been checking frequently and can not find any current updates on Champion Ebony? To include USCG newsroom page / site district #17 and current vesssel postion on the two most reliable sites available.

She is back in her normal trade. Now back in Alaska after a trip to Vancouver: http://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/258028000

There were no reported damages to the hull, or any risk of pollution: http://www.maritimeherald.com/2016/product-tanker-champion-ebony-ran-aground-in-alaska/

Those darn Norwegians are out to upset the Americans for sure!!
First they run a loaded tanker aground on uncharted rocks and then they cheat Americans by fixing freight rates: https://gcaptain.com/wwl-to-pay-nearly-100-million-criminal-fine-over-ro-ro-price-fixing-scheme/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Gcaptain+(gCaptain.com)

Unfair competition for American ROROs?
Not really, they only carry preferential cargoes that is allotted by the Government anyway.

Maybe time to ban Norwegian owned ships from US waters, incl. Viking ships with hordes of guys with horn on their hard hats, refusing to pay for pilotage.

Somebody have to do something to keep Americans safe and make America Great Again.

PS> Joke. Not to be taken serious.

Unless you are a subscriber to the Marine Exchange of Alaska’s expensive service, AIS data is quite spotty in Alaska. Dutch Harbor (where Champion Ebony is near now) has some of the best AIS coverage.

Horns on helmets? Oh my.

Actually that position was last month, before the grounding. I though somebody would catch on. You win the credit.

Actually the horns on Viking helmets are a Hollywood invention that has caught on.
It is now used by football fans from all Scandinavian countries:

Maybe by fans of some sports clubs in the Scandinavian “infested” parts of the US as well?

Yes I know that’s last month data - that was the trip she went aground on. So its still unclear what she has been up to. fleetmon.com has the same old data also. I put her in my fleet when the incidint happened. Nothing is changing so far.

Be honest here. Are you asking us to believe you don’t wear on of those when no one is looking?

You should check out a Lebowski Fest if one comes to your area. The ladies in the Viking helmets are quite entertaining.

Like these Viking lassies on a night out while their menfolks are busy pilfering in foreign lands?:

I would wear anything they told me to if the two ladies in post #68 wanted to take me under their wing.

That is the one. Where are they taking him? Somewhere far away from reality I’m sure.

Are you finally showing your true identity and allegiance with your new avatar??

Damn you figured me out, crying Jordan means Norway #1 awesome.
