Check out the Army Reserve watercraft program. They’ve got several dozen large landing craft that have warrant officers for captains etc. I considered going that route when I got off Navy active duty before I went to Cal Maritime instead.
EDIT: The 880A Marine Deck Officer designation is what I’d look into in your position
