Moon shot to be delayed?

Day 4

Or you could join this fellow:

And where is space segment/leg in this?

I have also found u3a and after initial shock of learning world history from some members here i have enrolled on history from XVII century onwards.

Here’s a great little piece of space history…

NASA’s Artemis II Daily News Conference (April 5, 2026)

I know the place and was there 3 or 4 times over abt 20 years.

I known the presenter from some science documentaries I watched many years ago .Am not sure if it was BBC Horizon .

I know , one of the greatest if not the greatest minds on erth in rocket science . Dr.Wernher von Braun, father of V1,V2 and Saturn V monster rocket
was very familiar with the gases as most Germans, who were in the Nazi Party were familiar too and demostrated great expertise in using them for various purposes mixing them or not and igniting. The gas science was utilised well in carrying bannanas in old fashioned reefer ships and is still in refrigerated containers.

Note however that such properties of the mixed gases were well known on the steppes of Ukraine in XVI -XVII century , when the great Turk musslim empire was moving west to take the whole of europe .

The Ukrainian Kossacs as well as other local knignts , after eating and heavily drinking were humoring themselves wih the huge display of what was called the bengal fires.

Differently coloured depending on the menu in the stomachs. Huge FARTS were ignited with a torch and some were spectacular indeed. W/O internet and mobile phones they had to show some ingenuity to entertain themselves. .

But unfortunately the pressure from the gasses did not propell them vertically or laterally so none of the could fly to space or even fly over the walls of fortresses .

Solid fuel used in Space Shuttle SDRs ( solid rocket boosters ) allowed to reduce the mass of the object, what is important in inserting it on the earth orbit or overcome further the earth gravity while traveling to the moon.

Regarding Bengal fires try it . Spectacular!!! but not at the gas station.

Artemis II Flight Day 5 Highlights

Bengal Fires were known as “The Dance of the Flaming Arseholes” way back when in Bughy Street, Singapore on top of the very salubrious concrete toilet block, by drunken sailors and squaddies. Well attended by carefully made up “careful what you wish for “ people.

James Burke - BBC “Tomorrow’s World”

In the late 1960s/early 1970s RAN sailors visiting Singapore were well known to perform “The Dance of the Flaming Arseholes” in Bugis Street:

BTW; lacking enough “fuel” they substituted with rolled up pages from Straits Times.

PS: Māori soldiers and sailors had a “good” reputation performing the stunt too.

It’s officials, in the future space programs will have jobs available for eccentric, antisocial people who don’t mind getting dirty who can’t really work anywhere else. First moon mission with a toilet onboard. I know just the type of people who will be assigned to keep these space toilets working.

We are going to see things we have never seen before

It’s a story of inspiration and a story of science. For me, it had echoes of the Apollo programme.

At a time when this world does not have enough optimism, this was a moment in time when we could forget we’re a planet that has a war. We can see that picture of the Earth and look at it as one planet.

The most moving moments were the human ones. You could hear the crackle of emotion in the astronauts’ voices when they named a crater after Reid Wiseman’s wife.

It seems that the Orion crew’s applications for asylum at the alien cheese refinery on the dark side of the moon were unsuccessful!

Have they seen this during their flyover ?

could get a snack and even refuel and continue to Mars

NASA has just confirmed what they always suspected & released new images of the Dark Side of the Moon!

The drawings are already in existence.

External Structures-Moonbase Alpha

I remember watching some film taken by the Deutsches Heer (German Army) of launching V2 rockets. The film could have been classified at the time and I think it was 8mm. There was one spectacular explosion when the launch didn’t go as planned.

V2 Fails

Like everything else in an early experimental stages. Whithout this failures reaching perfection is impossible. We learn as we go.
