Or if the Brits and Soviets defend it for you.
Like Taiwan, Ukraine and the South China Sea.

FYI; the Soviet Union hasn’t existed since 1991, but Britain is a member of NATO and are thus obligied to defend you if you should get attacked by Mexico. (Refr. Art. 5 of the NATO Treaty)
BTW; Art.5 has only been invoked ONCE. By USA after the 9/11 attack:
