Medical cert issue time frame

NMC said it takes 8-12 months for them to issue a medical certificate. Is this a realistic timeframe or are people getting their medical certificate in less time?

You / we, will get your MED cert in 11 to 25 days. An application for upgrade / test is about 30 days. A renewal? I have no idea. I’ll bet about 75 - 90 days if your initial application is correct.

Way less than that.

I did my latest one about three weeks ago. I submitted and got it sent to me (via email, which is a nice change) about 12 days later. I don’t have any waivers or any abnormal conditions. If you do, it may take longer to clear.

Overall, seemed quite “normal”.

That is nice. Very cool!

I was shocked when they said 8-12 months. But only 90 days for a license renewal. It made sounded crazy to me.

I have nothing abnormal and no waivers. Submitted it a couple weeks ago and only thing I’ve heard was the automatically generated thanks for submitting email. That’s why I called for an update and was told 8 months expected time to get a med cert.

12 days from submitting the form to the med cert being in my inbox. If you don’t have a medical waiver should be about the same timeframe.

Anybody know what the current rule is for med certs and renewing your license? My med cert is valid but my physical was over a year ago - do I need a current physical, or because my med cert is still good am I just good to renew?

Thery are separate documents with separate expiration dates. Your medical certificate is valid until its expiration dates (it has two). You do not need to renew your medical certificate short of its expiration becaue you are renewing your MMC.

That’s what I thought. Thanks!
