Max vcg vs Trim [Actual data for an approved ship design]

Dear Naval Architects,
Observing an approved trim and stability booklet of our vessel, it gives me an impression that the vcg is allowed to be higher when the vessel trims by forward, or indirectly that the ship is more stable in trim by forward position.
I am slightly newer to the naval architecture.
So please help me understand this because I had a notion that the vessel would be most stable in even keel position.
