Mariner Pay 2025: Limited License Companies

Nah not 1000 not even 950

I’d be shocked if their ATB captains are breaking 850 a day.

Thanks for this info. Forgive my ignorance but what is “CTI”?

Just to clarify for those not familiar, this looks like the pay rates for SIU represented Crowley tugs, which are SIU from top to bottom.

“CPRS” is Crowley Puerto Rico Service" which includes tugs towing barges from the US East Coast to Puerto Rico.

“COS” is Crowley Offshore Services which includes the Ocean Class and other offshore tugs that sail out of Lake Charles.

“Harbor Tugs” on this sheet are those in LA / Long Beach & San Diego.

Edit: There might be a missing part to that table- “CPS” or Crowley Petroleum Service which are the ATB’s.

Pay Rates for Crowley ATBs represented by the MMP
Master: $82.78 / hr. - $993.40 / day
Chief Mate: $66.12 / hr. - $793.47 / day
2/M: $60.00 / hr. - $720.09 / day
3/M $56.05 / hr. - $672.67 / day

Per the CBA these rates will increase 4% on April 1st, 2025. Crowley contributes 10% of gross wage to 401(k) for retirement, and officers have the option to contribute additional funds to an employee Individual Retirement Account Plan (IRAP). Medical benefits are fully funded by the company.

In 2024 all but one Crowley ATB were transferred to a new joint venture called Fairwater. I believe all collective bargaining agreements remain in force until their expiration, at which time the respective unions will have to re-negotiate with Fairwater.

Thats amazing. I never saw the day coming.

I know some folks who bled vane green thru thick and thin so good to hear they are being rewarded.

Thanks for posting this all.
I’ve interviewed with crowley a few times in the past and most recently a few months ago and it’s hard to get any answers on anything beyond your ‘day rate’ which is ultimately why i passed the last time. Its nice to not be expected to sign the dotted line till you know at least some details in regards of whichever union you have to join.

Nothing more than rumors unless you can share the numbers…and why are you being so vague?

These pay/wage threads always get clogged up with people posting stuff like “I heard that they pay this amount” or “my buddy says they make this much”. Do us all a favor- if you don’t have the numbers, don’t waste our time.

Been curious about the OSG ATB payscale given how much wages have gone up elsewhere.

Now I’m confused. Are you saying you’re really talking about the mean but calling it the median? If so I think that’s a serious mistake that should be corrected, psychology notwithstanding.

Given the merits of perception versus accuracy, perception always wins in human relations. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ll take that as a yes. Well, you’re the man with the job and I’m just the peanut gallery. But FWIW you’re using a technical term with a highly specific meaning that educated people will know, and knowing that you are educated will expect you not to deliberately misuse it in the service of ignorance. This low-grade autistic thinks that’s a really bad idea.
