Looking to move offshore

Hello there gcaptain friends I’m a recent maritime grad been using this site to answer my questions ever since I started at school and this is my first time posting here. I came out of school and settled working for Kirby inland marine for my first job. Well I have been here for a bit and realized it’s not for me as well as Kirby won’t let me transfer to KOM even with my offshore towing endorsement as well so I’m looking to get back offshore. I have my sites set on working on an osv or somewhere in the oil patch because I have my basic dp. The issue being that no one seems to be hiring right now at least for an entry level wheelhouse position. Really I’m just posting here if anyone has any leads about any jobs openings I know this is a long shot here and most people aren’t receptive to requests likes this but I thought it was worth a shot. Thanks to anyone who takes the the time read I appreciate it and hope everyone has a great day and smooth sailing to anyone underway.

You’ll get a call back…eventually…there is a long line in front of you. Keep being aggressive though don’t give up. There is plenty of new boats coming out at all companies.

First, read the “read this first” post and the “knocking on doors” posts. You say “no-one” is hiring, but you don’t say who you approached or how you approached them. It does seem that there are companies hiring at many levels.

Second, watch your grammar/spelling on anything you are submitting to these companies. Are you typing on a phone? You know it is having your “sights” not “sites” set on something right? Also, you could use commas to make your sentences easier to read. I’m not the grammar police, but it would make you look more professional.

Yes, if you read my thread, “Knocking on Doors in Louisiana” you will see that many academy grads are being hired every week.
You just have to come on down to Louisiana and interview " face to face".
They want to get to know you.
You will NOT get a job emailing, calling, etc.
In the last few weeks many academy grads have been hired just from my B&B.
I have 4 here this week and things are looking good already.
Go through my thread and just read everything I have posted!!!
Best wishes.
