License Upgrade Help

I have heard that there are poeple that you pay and will deal with the coast guard for you during upgrades. Does anyone know of any in southern california area?

I don’t know of any in California but this has been discussed recently on the forum. Norleen Schumer in Puget Sound and Andy Hammond in the Boston area I believe are the only two I know of. There were a few other names that came up in the related thread.

Erika Logan Mariner Storm Document Service

Do you have a special circumstance? I would save your money if it a straight forward upgrade. I agree it can be a pain, but it seems to be getting better. Now if there is something preventing you from a standard upgrade then you can look into paying someone. Also not sure if you really need anyone local. Seems all can be done via internet

Try Jewelmaritime.com in San Diego. She formerly worked at the REC in Long Beach. I have successfully used her in the past.

Send me your money, I’ll do it.

Ms Joyce can help!

Paying someone to do your paperwork is wasted money.

If you can read a write, follow the directions. Print out the checklists and obtain all the documents it says you need. Drop in mail. Take the $100 and take the wife/gf to dinner.

Ha, Yeah I may just do it myself… I would just rather not drive to Long Beach and deal with the coast guard.

? The commissary there has an outstanding cook. Lots of cops and fireman eat there. You just need someone to “sponsor” you to get on the door. That would be excuse enough for me to drop by Terminal island.

Its probably cheaper to pay a license consultant than to drive up to Long Beach and back, pay for parking, lunch, etc. Then again it depends on how much you value your time. If you don’t mind working for less than minimum wage, then enjoy figuring out how to do it yourself and enjoy your drive up to Long Beach.

Do these license consultants actually make to where you dont have to go to an REC? My last upgrade I had to go in because I had to test. But I everything else I did was online

You don’t have to drive. you can do it all via email. If you need testing, there is no avoiding the trip to the REC.
