Layoffs

Looking at all the boats tied up in Fourchon and other places how long does this have to go on before layoffs start? I would think that the larger company’s with the newer equipment would be the last to be affected, but what about the company’s with the older and smaller tonnage?

Almost all those boats “tied up” are working. Stacked boats aren’t in Fourchon.

I did not say anything about boats being stacked in fourchon, I know that companies do not stack boats in fourchon. There are a lot of liftboats that have been in the same spot for a long time without moving. I doubt that they are working. I have seen quite a few crewboats and workboats pushed up in the mud for weeks at a time.

I’ve only worked for two company’s but neither has done layoffs. The small company cut our pay 10% couple of times. The big company is under 3 year contracts so like you posted I don’t think it effects them that much.
