Hey fellow Mariners,
As soon as I get off my hitch I plan on filling out my paperwork to join the SIU. My question is since I have my Z-Card, BST, and Passport do I still have to go through there apprentice program. Looked on their site and I could not find that information. Also I’m curious about how much are dues every month. In the past I asked a dude and he told me I shouldn’t join because the dues are about 1000 quarterly (which didn’t sound right to me) I also asked my captain and he told me he pays 150 quarterly. Can anyone verify this information or get me pointed in the right direction ? Thanks.
