Given the unquestioning and “can-do-no-wrong” mentality of many of his supporters it very much seems that, unless POTUS runs for a third term which is certainly possible at this point, whomever he endorses as his successor would immediately be on the fast track to GOP nomination. There is pretty much zero resistance or contrary thinking left in the national GOP so if he chooses to endorse a family member as a follow-on it would at least mean automatic nomination within the party and perhaps outright election in the general given the 2024 results nationally.

I wouldn’t put passed him of just going ahead, pulling some switcheroo shenanigans & appointing a successor without even having a primary to pick a candidate. Naa, on second thought, I don’t think the Republican base can be so brainwashed & gullible. But if they are, we’ll call them out on it for sure, at least I know I will. I
Trump is 78 years old and the constitution prohibits a third term. Thats never going to happen.
Ivanka is holding back for a couple years. If Trump’s second term is not too much of shitshow, Ivanka will become Chief of Staff, or something. And then, Ivanka will run for President in 2028.
As a Trump, and with her father’s endorsement , but as a relatively liberal woman that will appeal to women voters across party lines, Ivanka will stand a good chance of election.
Otherwise, Vance seems like the present frontrunner.
In that case, pray for Ivanka.

As far as I know, Ivanka was born in the USA.
