Anyone got advice on some kind of international phone? I’ve talked to AT&T and its crazy expensive add it to my phone. Soon as i leave the us they pretty much said turn the signal off unless it’s a emergency. Just wondering if anyone has any cleaver cheap tricks to us a phone to call back to the us. Thanks!

You can add international calling to T-Mobile at no cost. I use a quad band phone, works everywhere except Japan and Korea.
K.C.
If you have internet access skype works pretty well and it is really cheap.
Go to Mobile Planet and order one of their unlocked cell phones. Quad band. You can even get one with two SIM card slots.
Purchase a SIM card when you get to what ever country for about $1, then purchase scratch cards to charge up your minutes.
I purchased a dual SIM model from Mobile Planet for about $35, and it has been working like a charm. International calls back to the States have been as low as $0.10 a minute, and up to $2 per minute.
If someone wants to call you from the States, they can dial 011+ country area code + your cell number.
I know a few people who use magic jack.
I use “explorer” sim card from http://www.telestial.com/ got a duel sim card phone while in jebel ali. Works great. The sim card works in almost all countries (all mid east for sure) every country has a different rate most w free incoming, can add data for extra too. Iv been using the same sim card for 3 years now no complaints
I use www.mobal.com It’s good clear communication, and the prices competative. Ya never know.
this is good info…
Right on guys thanks for the info, I’m sure other guys browsing the forum appreciate it as well. Think I’m going to order a cheap unlocked cell then get a sim for it.
