Intercon ATB Connection Systems
Just wondering, do you guys have air conditioning in your intercon rooms? My boat was retrofitted probably 6-7 years ago so the layout is less than stellar. Its pretty nasty down there, especially during summers in the gulf. Id rather be down in the 120 degree engine room where there is atleast ventilation. I have been on a boat that was built with the intercon system, much nicer layout… A/C more space to move around and the grease barrels were kept in forepeak with plenty of space around to change everything out!
Mine has forced air ventilation down to the Pin rooms. The air is sucked out of the pin room, so the AC falls down into the pin rooms. It doesn’t cool like the rest of the boat, but the air is fresh and relatively cool(er). Hey… it’s nicer than the engine room in July!

The space outside the intercon rooms on the 750 series ATB’s commonly referred to as the “bowling alley” is air conditioned. Otherwise the room has a natural circulation for intake and forced exhaust. The Intercon rooms stay cool even during the heat of the Gulf summer.

My current ride has no ventilation in the pin rooms.
Both HPU’s are in the starboard pin room,
electronics and grease system in the port pin room.
Average temp runs 100 -130 degrees in the hydraulics side.

To much heat can cause the grease to separate.
Be sure to rotate your stock!!

Grease will be on top, wax in the middle and oil at the bottom.
Clean the LubeSci 100 mesh grease strainer pretty often.
