Information, Misinformation, Disinformation

When information is a weapon, every opinion is an act of war. We live in a world of influence operations run amok, where dark ads, psyops, hacks, bots, soft facts, ISIS, Putin, trolls, and Trump seek to shape our very reality. In this surreal atmosphere created to disorient us and undermine our sense of truth, we’ve lost not only our grip on peace and democracy–but our very notion of what those words even mean.Peter Pomerantsev takes us to the front lines of the disinformation age, where he meets Twitter revolutionaries and pop-up populists, “behavioral change” salesmen, Jihadi fanboys, Identitarians, truth cops, and many others. Forty years after his dissident parents were pursued by the KGB, Pomerantsev finds the Kremlin re-emerging as a great propaganda power. His research takes him back to Russia–but the answers he finds there are not what he expected.Blending reportage, family history, and intellectual adventure, This Is Not Propaganda explores how we can reimagine our politics and ourselves when reality seems to be coming apart.

Reality doesn’t seem to be coming apart, reality is hitting home. The reality is we have a profoundly mentally ill president overseeing a shameless and overtly corrupt congress. The American experiment appears to be in its final throes of failure. We have no one to blame except ourselves.

Trump is nothing more or less than a repeat of the world history of the rise and fall of nations and dictators.

I’m gonna borrow your line a little bit-
"The reality is we have a profoundly mentally ill president overseeing an equally ill Speaker of the House & senate minority leader, members of “The Squad”, AND a shameless and overtly corrupt congress, as well as an American population that will, if we believe the polls, elect a person to president who is also profoundly mentally ill & suffering from dementia, and as a result will vote for his VPOTUS selectee.

All the democrats are nothing, more or less, than a repeat of the world history of the rise and fall of nations and dictators. [Gov’s in MI, NY, NJ, etc who are keeping the economy closed, are defacto dictators]

Truthfully though, POTUS isn’t mentally ill. You may not like him [he drives me batty too-but he’s not in the weeds like Biden], but he’s actually pretty clever.

Ray Dalio, who’s a pretty smart man recently came out with an excerpt of his book which is food for thought. We all know from our history lessons that empires and spheres of influence change. At one time Amsterdam was the capital of the world, later London and presently New York. But all empires mature and eventually collapse under their own weight and hubris. We may be witnessing due to the Covid-19 virus an accelerated change that was inevitable.

This interview gives some insight into what is going on.

That might be wishful thinking.

A Lot of People Believe Bill Gates Wants to Microchip Them

Depressing to see the level of ‘not sure’ as well…one thing to be cautious about what you can’t specifically say is false, even when it’s this fanciful, and the ‘not sure’ is also an end goal of propaganda.

But seriously, how on earth could anyone believe such a story? No one would go to the trouble on such a ridiculous scale to plant a digital ID tracker. All you gotta do is make a cool phone that has Netflix or FB and they’ll pay you to get one, and carry it around everywhere. What do they think, Gates needed a plausible way to track migratory Amish?

When and if a vaccine for this virus comes out I would encourage all who do not believe in vaccines generally and especially those who think Bill Gates is going to track them via the vaccine to not get the vaccine! You have the freedom to refuse it and should do so.
You are free to let natural selection takes its course.

This is just a small and somewhat silly example.Something like 40% believe that Muller report proves that the news media can’t be trusted."Reality won’t break through until we hit bottom and its turtles all the way down.

Reading Ray Dalio’s essay one finds that as the educational system goes down so do empires. The USA has for many years been ranked low in basic education among developed nations. So, these polls do not surprise me at all. Unfortunately there is a rising number of people who pride themselves on having no education and denigrate those who do. Despots know the first thing you must do is kill off or marginalize the educated so as to gain control. The murderous Pol Pot in Cambodia even killed off anyone that wore glasses as that meant they could read and might be educated.
