Hospital Ship dumps crew off of boat being lifted

The boat appears to be a 42’ Navy utility boat. It did not overturn. It tilted about 90deg dumping two people in the water. The remaining people were in no danger of drowning. They were not even in the water. There was probably a coxswain and bow line and stern line tender with the rest being medical personnel. The story implies a lot of misinformation.

One other thing, It’s standard practice for all personnel in the boat to wear a flotation device.

Falling in the water of Jeremie Haiti is scary even with a flotation device. Raw sewage in the water there. Whew…

They shouldn’t have been hoisting it with anyone on board. It wasn’t a boat davit with manropes but a hoisting sling with no safety for crew or passengers.
