I am not sure if talented cartoonist was referring to the POTUS transfer in England , which should rather be in a royal couch instead of catering or other cargo container.
Pls see also your friend George Galloway piece on his utube ch. on that topic.
Your Father surely did not drop A bomb as it was top secret mission to scare the shit of Japonese population and their Emperor .
Your Fathers bombings and killing innocent civilians proved ineffective as a tactics for regime change and surrender.
"A " bombs und USSR joining the war in far east did the trick as far as I know .
I don’t defend the USA as a paragon of virtue in any regard. In fact, as I woke up in the last decade or so, I regard that nation as fatally flawed, especially its intelligence services interfering in the politics of other nations and essentially out of control and a force answerable only to themselves. There’s also the attempt to depopulate the world by fake pandemics and fake and dangerous jabs.
BUT, and it’s a huge BUT, I regard Trump as a good guy who will sort it out. So I am assured that the operations under his command will be scrupulously by the book.
The Joint Maritime Information Centre (JMIC) warned of the continued risks of mines in the Strait of Hormuz after US President Donald Trump claimed the waterway was cleared of threats.
My father was serving in the cruiser HMNZS Gambia with another American cruiser at the time the bombs were dropped and they were engaged in a shore bombardment of the Yamaha factory. It had nothing to do with stopping the music, the factory was manufacturing aircraft propellers and other aircraft parts then. Together they fired possibly the last shots at the Japanese mainland of the war.
Sorry. I understood " bombarding" as bombing and I thought bombing was from the planes. Also thought navy ships are shelling the shore targets what results in shellacking most of the time.
Iran has granted permission for a number of Iraqi oil tankers to transit the Strait of Hormuz following repeated requests from Baghdad, state news agency IRNA reported on Saturday.
The concession followed a visit to Iraq by Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. Iraqi President Nizar Amedi said Iran had already facilitated the passage of some Iraqi oil vessels, calling the issue complicated.
Since the US doesn’t have any mine sweepers in the area and the Iranian Navy has been “destroyed”, exactly by whom, when and how the mines were cleared is not clear.(?)
Not the “ratbag side” that proposed to do so, but backed off?
Maybe they realized that they didn’t have any territorial right, or the means, to do so? (aka TACO)
Meanwhile the “tit-for-tat” came is resuming:
Who to belive, the known liars in Washington, or the maritime security officials?
PS: The named tanker is “unknown”, while “another tanker” is not named?
Today being September 3rd here was marked by Merchant Navy day. It was the day WWII started and the day The Battle of the Atlantic began for some, The service honoured all the Merchant Seafarers who died regardless of their nationality and we were reminded of those still dying in the Middle East today.
All driven by a Commander in Chief who exhorted ship owners to show some guts to sail in harms way then hid away in a catering container.
Yes, good to remember the merchant seamen lost in wars. Their sacrifice was considerable and in disproportionate numbers but their service was essential to the eventual result.
In passing, it’s also Australian National Flag Day today too. The flag was chosen by the people. Naturally, the communist traitors running this country are ashamed of it and try to belittle it at every opportunity.
Not quite right. And a nasty, snide backhander as well.
Mariners dying in the Middle East today are not simply the result of Trump’s decisions. The war has been a result of decades of attacks and terrorism of Islamic zealots who are being brought to their knees by a timeless strategy of blockade attacking their sources of funding for ongoing terrorism. They are the ones crying “Death to America” and mean every word.
Spare a thought for the tens of thousands of Iranian civilians massacred by this despicable IRGC regime and thank Trump for having the balls to drive them back into the Stone Age they so admire.
A whole heap of others in that theatre are “in harms way” and they need someone who doesn’t wilt at the fist whiff of gun smoke and kowtow to these arseholes and ship pallets of cash to help with the expenses like another former President … Hussain something or other.
As for hiding away in a catering container, he was taking the advice of his Secret Service of a credible threat. Not his decision. He takes his experts’ advice. He’s stood defiantly in the face of gunshots before and there’s no shortage of idiots and nut jobs (and opposing politicians and their camp followers - but I repeat myself) who want to see him dead, incarcerated, impeached, impoverished, shamed, anything but victorious. Most commenters here probably think the same but perhaps hold their tongue. Tell me who, anywhere has faced the dire threats to his life and lawfare to him and his family.
He’s the one good thing this world has going for it in a final defence against the evil forces of a global deep state. You’ll see … eventually.
Just to give @Hogsnort a reason to smile after I hauled him over the coals, it seems the public servants tasked with finding 35 Australian flags to occupy all the flagpoles at the Australian Parliament House in Canberra to celebrate Australian National Flag Day, couldn’t quite make up the numbers (or they had no idea) slipped a couple of New Zealand flags in amongst the Aussie ones hoping no one would notice.
The TV news did notice and now we all do. We still regard you as close cousins except when sport is involved.
