In the mid 70’s I worked for Allied Towing. Owner Bill Law proudly proclaimed “You offshore guys get an extra 30 cents per day for grub”. The inland guys got $3.25. We still, surprisingly ate ok. When I went to Stewart Petroleum, their access to fresh seafood and steaks was second to none. My last job I worked at for decades had no formal budget, and fed quite well. And yes, we had some decent cooks…And yes I agree with a former poster, have heard many times"The more you eat,the more you make"…CLASSIC
