6 years ago it was found that the old infrastructure at the lock that connect the lake Vanaren with the sea and the bridges that connected the two parts of Stockholm together had deteriorated badly and needed replacement.

In March this year the new “Guld Broen” (Golden Bridge) was delivered from China by HLV:
What it doesn’t say (but can be seen from the picture) is that the bridge rested on two barges during transport. These were used for the loading in China and the float-off and installation of the bridge deck on prepared pillars in Stockholm.
