I am a Ph.D. researcher at the Georgia Institute of Technology, advised by Professor Saman Zonouz. We are doing a research study to investigate the safety and security practices of crews on marine vessels. We will use the results of this study to improve security training. We also plan to work with different standards organizations to make requirements more tailored to the real problems crews face. Our goal is to make marine vessels more resilient and secure in a practical way by incorporating crew input.
We are looking for people with experience working on ships, specifically people who have worked as officers, to participate in a 10-minute survey. Upon completion, we may contact some of the participants in the survey for a further 45 to 60-minute interview to dive deeper into their experiences.
If you have worked on a ship and are willing to help us with our research project, please fill out our short survey: Microsoft Forms. Should you need further information or have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us here: araymaker3@gatech.edu.
We build our new ships for physical and yes cybersecurity. We contract specialist firms to engineer and test it.
The traffic is monitored in & out for threats and across the managed fleet and the cybersecurity vendor’s contracted fleets in real time. It is quite detailed nowadays and the related services are readily available from numerous vendors for peace of mind and regulatory compliance… what is it „new“ that you seek to offer ?
I do see on various links your team is well involved and experienced in many areas of security…
