G7 Meeting in Canada

They are all hoping his bone spurs are playing up agai.

Canada should not let him in the country, as a felon he is banned from entry anyway. The next best way to avoid clashes with the degenerate moron is to completely ignore him, pretend he doesn’t exist. That is the greatest insult to a narcissist and would send a message to the civilized world that he is beneath contempt.

Will you pretend he doesn’t exist? Please?

Every post you make lately is about him. Get professional help if you must.

Trump is 79 and only has 3-1/2 years left in office. He is a transitory phenomenon.

Said the guy who is an actual subject to an un-elected King. Northern Europeans have been subjects to kings & queens for thousands of generations & ombugge wants to call our duly elected president a king? The way Europeans love having the un-elected rule over them based on birthright alone you’d think they’d be furious over any mockery of that ancient form of government they’ve been conditioned to live under? Well, good thing Kings & Queens only exists in fairy tales, Europe & backwards 3rd world countries in Asia & Africa. Let them have it.

I find all Americans suffer from a different form of TDS called KDS. They have an irrational reaction to Kings. You rejected one once and forever after congratulate yourselves that you did so, but by force rather than negotiation.

My king may be unelected, but we Australians actually voted democratically in a referendum to approve the Constitution of Australia, implemented on 1 January 1901, which included the monarchy at its heart. We did that in the full knowledge of the alternatives that were considered including the USA, Switzerland, France and many others. We had learnt the lessons of mistakes made there and avoided them all and became a nation without bloodshed, revolution or civil war (can you say that?).

We have since then reaffirmed the monarchy as our system in a nation-wide referendum in 1999 when the communists wanted what you have, a republic. The proposal was defeated everywhere and they haven’t found the courage or support to try again knowing the result. If you study our system we have what you might call a crowned republic; a system by which the people decide how they will be ruled and the King implements that as the executive through appointed ministers of state.

So try to temper your inherent revulsion of monarchies because, for the most part, they rule with popular support ie democratically. Our King must act to support the constitution and, despite his absolute latent power, only acts upon the democratically endorsed advice of his Prime Minister unless there’s some exceptional circumstance. The essence of the system is that the king is a force above and beyond politics, holding an office of historic respect of a continuity of centuries. He holds the one office not available to grasping, back-stabbing politicians, the one bauble that is forever unattainable for them. He can therefore be a uniting force of a nation personified.

I can understand you prefer your system. We prefer ours.

Guilty as charged! But I don’t think it’s a syndrome, more of a trait passed along from generation to generation? Newbies to our country seem less offended by the idea of a monarch compared to those of us who have heritage dating back to the Revolution or from the refugees who escaped Ireland & Scotland in the 1800’s IMO. Prehaps the masses who had the genetic make up to be appalled by birthright rulership fled together leaving the believers behind, with each sect breeding & multiplying amongst themselves to have 2 happy groups getting what they want?

I was happy for the left & Democrats when they changed the name of their protests & roits to, “No Kings” from “ICE Out”. For the life of me I couldn’t see why any community would protest & roit to keep the original 135 arrested illegal immigrants that sparked the LA riots. The warrants they were arrested over described the most despicable people who were found guilty or charged with the most heinous crimes a society can have. We definitely need ICE to remove such people on the federal level. But when they changed the name to “No Kings” everyone smiled, even Republicans & those who like Trump can agree kings suck.

As for actual kings, I think your king & his prince are better than most others. While they aren’t obligated to pay income taxes they do anyways. Apparently they know how to read a room. Now about the picture of the king below, he ain’t never paid no income tax & likely never will. It’s his birthright to live tax-free over his subjects & he exercises that right. Really, none of that is any of my business but I think it funny serfs from far off actual kingdoms who can’t control their own kings criticizes our President who is restrained by term limits, courts on a daily basis & the IRS.

Did you notice the “No Kings” demonstrations all around in the US lately?
It was all over the news all over the world.
Even on Fox News (but with a different take from the rest world media)

Your understanding of how modern Monarchies function in general and the history of the Norwegian Monarchy specifically, is sorely lacking. (surprise, surprise)
The present King is very popular in Norway:
Monarch hailed as a 'moral authority' - Norway's News in English — www.newsinenglish.no
He is still active travelling at 89. He and his Queen (87) has pledged to make official visits to all 356 municipalities of Norway, (still a few to go)
PS> They are presently at Svalbard: Arctic News - #630 by ombugge

The King have no political, but he and his family representing Norway all over the world, which gets more attention than if an elected Ceremonial President of a small country like Norway come visiting:

His Grandfather, King Haakon VII was actually elected by the people of Norway when Norway broke away from the Union with Sweden in1905 (7th June)
Update:
Oops! I see you have posted again since I made this post. Shows a bit more knowledge then I credited you for.

Did you notice/read when I said…

Trump has the ability to make the Democrats & those on the left adopt whatever position he chooses by chosing the opposite position. The Dems aren’t as cunning & Trump isn’t as stupid. I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump & Vance jumps on the “No Kings” bandwagon & proposes a “No Kings” holiday or starts selling “MAGA No Kings” hats. Americans generally don’t like kings, plain & simple.

Better than that actually. The king doesn’t pay income tax. Instead he voluntarily surrenders the entirety of his profits from his private estates (separate from state-owned eg Buckingham Palace) and receives a much smaller allowance in return for the running of his official duties and the maintenance of his official residences.

So whilst your president graciously surrenders his presidential income, and he remains eligible for a lifetime pension, to equal my king, he would have to surrender the entirety of his private profits in perpetuity, work for no pay until death with no possibility of retirement or pension, be told what to sign by his (elected? Secretaries of State), and never again say anything politically controversial or take sides in any political matter.

Can we both look forward to that?

I already answered this before you posted:

Since you liked the cartoon I posted earlier so much, here is this weeks KAI cartoon in The Economist FYE:

PS> Enlarge to enjoy the minor details.

Surprise, surprise, surprise. A guy named King Haakon the 7th won the election to be King. Who did he run against? The baker? A shoemaker? Ships clerk? He was born the Prince of Denmark & died the King of Norway & you want to brag that he was elected? Let me guess, he got 99.9% of the vote just like Sadam Hussain & Fidel Castro used to always get? And him & none of his descendants since have paid a cent in income taxes. I’m pretty sure your king is a direct descendant of Charlemagne just like all those other kings, queens, dukes & earls the people of Europe love to bow down to because they were born out of a royal vigina instead of a common vigina like the rest of us.

And now that I think about it, I might of figured out why you talk about our elected president so harshly & so often. Prehaps if you smeared your king in such a manner you’d be arrested & charged with treason against the crown? Prehaps you are subconsciously lashing out at our elected official out of jealousy because you’re subjugated in your far off kingdom to live under un-elected head of state? With your king being the commander of all your armed forces, I can understand why no one talks bad of him & sings his praise. Smart move. A No Kings protest in Norway would likely end up with many in the dungeons.

BTW, I found this picture of the Norwegian King election process. Yep, sure enough, that guy in the middle wearing the crown sitting in the big chair was the only candidate & won all the votes. Who would have thunk it?

Against such wisdom and knowledge, even the King has lost his right.

BTW: the painting by Jacob Munch that you found by Google is from the coronation of Charles III John (Norwegian: Karl III Johan) Before he became royalty in Sweden, his name was Jean-Baptiste Jules Bernadotte.

PS> All the Royal families in Europe can trase their ancestry back to this fellow:
