About to move/go to work. I don’t need all these dead trees hanging around. If anybody wants any of them before I lug them over to the charity shop, let me know. Some of them are actually kind of neat. Happy to answer any questions about content or condition. Free if you pay for the postage: Its a sale to celebrate my new stripes.

Very nice collection, some of them look like good reads. I know it has to be hard to separate from them. But have you checked the price of them on EBay & Amazon? Maybe if you have a friend or old co-worker who sells things online they could sell them for you for 1/2 the profit? Another option is to sell them to a used book/music store if you have any near where you live. A lot of things that are donated to thrift stores end up in the trash & I hate seeing that happen to books.
I hope you received lots of messages about your very generous offer from some of the posters looking to move up. This is a great collection. Some of those books are very useful to deck officers as well as engineers.
I think I’ve found homes for at least 3 of them. Unfortunately I’ve found five more that need homes. I guess there will be more when I go to organize my locker. Updated list:

I don’t know how much time I have to screw around with details, but I suppose some of local book sellers will like to have some of the local interest history things.
Somebody is selling a copy of “The Efficient Use of Steam” for $900 on Amazon. Another person is selling a copy for $500. Most are selling around the $20-30 range & one in real bad shape is going for $10.
My copy is in good shape with a nice sturdy library lending binding. Binding is sound, pages are unmarked, except for library stamps. Original price: 1 GBP, 15 shillings. Published by Her Majesty’s Stationery Office. I gleaned it from the library discard pile, so it was free to me. I can take it down to the guy at the place and see if he wants to buy it.
I found some more books, and some have been spoken for. So here’s the updated list:

I have found homes for more than 11 kg of them, so far. The more urgent question is: how does a homeless nomad manage to accumulate so much in such a short time?
Books are a great source of fibre. Also can be used for heating. I know, because I read Ray Bradbury’s How To manual:
“There must be something in books, something we can’t imagine, to make a woman stay in a burning house; there must be something there. You don’t stay for nothing.”
