Looking through the LNTM and noticed to this:
“Ocean Wind Survey Vessels OCEAN RESEARCHER, SHEARWATER and NEPTUNE are conducting surveys in this area for the next several months.”
While I’m optimistic that the wind farms will be good for US employment in the long run, there is much survey work to be done and only the Shearwater from the above list is an American flagged vessel. With the downturn in the gulf still being so bad, why are supply boats so slow to jump on these contracts?
On another note, how to go about fighting these foreign vessels in this trade?
