Almost one year ago HAV Design announced that they had signed a contract with Fjord 1 for design and development of 4 autonomous ferries to be built at Terzan Shipyard:
Now names have been announced for these four ferries:
MF Skagastøl, MF Fanaraaken, MF Ringstind and MF Storebjørn
.
These are the names of mountain peaks, which symbolize that we aim to reach the top, with a good view and overview when you reach your goal, which is a good analogy for world’s first ferry connection served by autonomous ferries-

With these names, Fjord1 is ready to take a big step into the future with autonomous passenger ferry operations on Lavik-Oppedal! when we take over operations in 2026!
