Emergency towing response readiness

The Norwegian Coast Guard will take over responsibility for keeping tugs in readiness to tow large vessels that gets into trouble along the Norwegian coast from the Coastal Administration:
They have chartered in two large AHTS to ensure capacity to handle the ever more frequent traffic of VLCCs, VLOCs, VLGCs and Mega Cruise ships sailing along the Norwegian coast.
They already have 4 suitable vessels in their fleet that can handle the inshore traffic and smaller vessels. Two of these are also of high ice class for Arctic emergencies.
