Dive and rov companies?

What are the top 5 Dive and ROV outfits to work for in the GOM as a DP Operator or aspiring one?

What’s your criteria?

If you are talking American flag companies, I am not sure there are even 5 that own a DP class boat. The big 3 would be Helix, Caldive, and Oceanerring.
HOS has a few ROV boats, 3 that I can think of.
ECO has its own ROV division called C-I which is Chouest Innovation, those are all Choest boats, but some Choest boats still have Oceanerring ROV’s on them for now.
Epic has one or 2 maybe, and I think one of them is a foreign flag charter.
OC has several that are chartered to different ROV and dive companies.

There is a long list of Foreign companies that own that type of boat. Most of the smaller dive companies will hire a DP boat from a OSV company for a certain job or length of time when they need one.

Some of the big foreign companies will hire an Amreican officer randomly, but if you are green to that side of the biz your chances are very slim getting on with them.

Oceaneering is by far the best. I’d stay far far away from Helix and Caldive appears to be sinking fast. Check out their stock ticker, DVR, and one year history. Caldive was part of Helix up until a few years ago and they are both as equally mismanaged.

I don’t know much about any of them but I did read cal-dive had 3 of their best vessels in dry dock last year which contributed to poor results for earnings.

Thanks a bunch, I appreciate it.
