Hello, I’m entering engineering school this fall and am just curious as to why a ship builder would choose something like a Twin prop Schottel pod over an Azipod type unit, or even over a counter-rotating pod unit or even a Z-drive? I understand they can all rotate 360˚ but what are the specific advantages/disadvantages of each.
