Decarbonizing shipping

I’m with America on this because the proposal is just stupidly driving costs up and not driving global temperatures down. Why do stupid stuff?

More “fun and games”:

PS> We’ll see on Friday who has the votes. Any bets?

Check the bank balances of those voting to see WHY they voted as they did.

There is an old saying that goes; One judges others by oneself
BTW; How do you “Check the bank balances” of others?
Even if you KNOW the identity of those you actually cast the vote on behalf of every IMO member country, that would be a monumental task.

PS> Maybe CIA could be told to do it, (If they haven’t all been fired, that is)

Which fact:
The climate is changing?
Human can alter the climate?

If its the co2 story the planet survived millions of years with all that co2 in the atmosphere.

It’s always good to listen to both sides of an argument.

The United States will be moving to levy these remedies against nations that sponsor this European-led neocolonial export of global climate regulations. We will fight hard to protect our economic interests by imposing costs on countries if they support the NZF. Our fellow IMO members should be on notice.

Excellent news. FAFO.

TACO

So you reject Trump’s solid support for US commercial shipping?

Trump knows and cares about shipping as much as he knows about science, history, government and governing. Zilch, zero, nada,

You helped elect him. He’s just doing what he promised. Enjoy it.

Facts:

  • 68% of eligible voters actually cast a vote in Nov. 2024.
  • 50.8% of valid ballots were for Trump/Vance.

Are you trying to prove me wrong? About what? Trump won and the entirety of the electorate participated (some by abstaining). So any US citizen must say they “helped elect him”.

Here’s how to enhance the victory using your “facts”.

68% of eligible voters cast a vote. So 32% of eligible voters who didn’t vote can be assumed to be happy with whatever outcome happened. So they can be added to Trump’s tally. Remember, they are happy. :slightly_smiling_face: :slightly_smiling_face: See the smiles.

Let’s say for simplicity there were 100,000 eligible and so 68,000 voted. So 34,544 voted for Trump (50.8% of 68,000) to which we add 32,000 who couldn’t care less. That’s 64,544 (64.544%) Trump voters and uninterested (who did not bother to vote against Trump). Comfortable win.

But we know voters don’t directly elect Presidents … and that the votes weren’t all, shall we say, kosher.

So the USA is using Tariffs (Taxing) other countries because they have voted to take action against US interests. Sort of reminds me of something. Perhaps another cup of tea will help me remember.

It getting close to Armageddon:

Soon we’ll know if; “It would be a pity if your nice NZF should be broken”
will be enough to scare anybody.

End of the world stuff? I think not. Nothing destroys the world either way.

Looks like “New York gangster methods” still works:

Looks like too many countries are susceptible to pressure from bullies.

Or maybe Euros should stop sniffing their own farts thinking they can change everyones thinking. We wont listen to you anymore. You and the rest of the EU are insignificant to us. Keep building your wind farms and selling us your cheap oil. Theres a “No Kings” protest scheduled in New York tomorrow, will you be there? Oh, thats right…Norway has a King. New York would steamroll your country and you could do nothing about it. Norwegian girls are gorgeous, maybe we should invade.

Making offers that can’t be refused? That’s the art of the deal, not the art of the gangster.

BTW Norway’s wealth was built on fossil fuels and you still pump it out regardless.

Do you totally discount common sense? No need to bully anyone when they are faced with simple, easy choices that benefit themselves.

Being forced (by bullies) into spending $gazillions to reduce CO2 emissions produces exactly zero climate benefit and a nett loss all round.

I, for one, am happy. We’ve avoided another brick in the wall.

What are you smoking? Euros doesn’t have an arse, nor a nose:

By “You” do you mean ME? I’m not from an EU Member State, nor hold an EU passport. FYI; Norway has twice voted “NO” to become an EU member.
I don’t know how “insignificant” EU may be to you, or the US:

Source: European Union | United States Trade Representative

We will + keep on developing the technology, services and manufacturing base.
When you are ready, we’ll be glad to help out develop yours.

?? I though it was the other way around. Isn’t US exporting it’s cheap WTI crude and LNG to Europe, while not buying much Brent Oil?
PS> Except for USNE Stats, since the freight costs makes it cheaper for them.

Yes, that’s right. The present King, his successor and the institution has a very high approval rating in Norway. Save us from electing a new Head of State every few years. (Better the old man you know than a new old man you don’t)

Would New York send their Home guard, or are they busy fighting the “enemy within” somewhere else in the US?

Well, there you are right, but no need to “invade” to ogle our girls:

You are welcome, whether to visit as a tourist, or more longterm: Greetings from Norway - #1100 by ombugge

If you do visit. you will NOT be pestered by Immigration officials on arrival.
PS> Unless you put on the “Ugly American” attitude, that is.

Sometime soon people will realise they’ve been swindled.
