Decarbonizing shipping

Solar power for cargo ships?:

I can see that solar panels permanently installed on/above the top deck of PCTCs,
But portable solar panel on deck/hatches on ordinary cargo ships, (even "stackable) I don’t see as feasible for these reasons:

  • Salt spray will soon cover the panels and need to be cleaned to function optimally.
  • Having to remove the panels for deck cargo (and possibly for some cargo operations)
  • With the small crews on short sea ships today, who is going to do the above?

Yes they are doubling down on the elitist globalist globalist anthropogenic global warming hoax. They have earned high scores on their social scorecards and recieve another gold star for virtue signaling and aiding the continued crippling of western nations.

No need for any help with that, it is already well underway: Trump is creating a selfish, miserable world. Here’s what we can do | Michael Plant | The Guardian

Meanwhile back to GHG emission from ships:

Trump isn’t the problem. He’s the solution.

I’m happy he’s stopping wars, building prosperity and exterminating the Lefties (useful things with benefits) rather than talking and wasting time, money and effort tilting at windmills in a nugatory quest for decarbonisation - whatever that is.

Yes. His policies and actions are closely aligned with Vladimir Putin’s. Except for maybe stopping wars.

Let me fix it for you;
“I’m happy he’s stopping prosperity, prolonging wars and exterminating the world order that USA have been building and cherishing since the end of WWII”.

Doesn’t that sound closer to reality?

To Trump deranged cult followers the only reality is the latest lie uttered by the diseased, demented, and deranged diaper donning Donald.

Don’t bother. I speak English very well and know what my words say, and I say what I mean.

No. Should it?

That’s you, afflicted as you are by a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome which, sadly, is terminal.

Nice try at alliteration, simply reinforcing the TDS diagnosis.

You keep on bragging about your English language abilities, spoken and written.
What about other languages, how many do you know, speak and read?

I can order “a couple of beers please” in numerous languages and also say “my friend will pay” too.:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

The beauty of English is that it is a common language, widely spoken. It’s never too late to improve your English. You know it is a great asset. It is a magnificent gift of excellent British colonialism along with the common law, parliamentary democracy, the rule of law, human rights, science and technology and many other underlying foundations of western civilisation.

I did study German at school but there’s nobody to speak with here.

@ombugge .Hey Guys .

I think i will have to carbonise both of You .Know some interesting methods .

On the issue of languages  must agree with @Jughead as Joseph Conrad switched to English while writting his sea stories finding English as more convenient. If interested click on this link here : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1H2di5JXLBZbAV3iNrEzA5pbIv1SuJwY1/view?usp=sharing

Was almost fluent in Russian in 1977 but long time of zero exposure to this lingo blunted my skills a lot even after reintroduction with Ukarainian & Russian crews/officers since 2004 and later.
But know some pantomime from Bolshoy Ballet :winking_face_with_tongue: . Want to try ???

You both always make my day while arguing
Cheers and have a wonderful rest of the weekend.

But I’m not arguing. I’m educating.

And I’d love to see you in a tutu as Sugar Plum Fairy.

That could be a challenge nawadays but my arms and palms are still quite agile :winking_face_with_tongue:

At school I learnt Latin and French. Back then I was an altar boy and the Mass was still in Latin so I heard and spoke some Latin. We were taught French by learning to write grammatically correct French. Never heard it spoken as shortwave was the only source and no other modern language was spoken within thousands of miles of NZ.

Educators say to learn a language young and 14 was too late.

Looks like the Panama Canal Authorities hasn’t heard that decarbonizing shipping is stupid, a vaste of time and starving the jungle of CO2:

PS> This applies to ALL dual-fuel vessels, regardless of flag and ownership.

They should get in touch with me. I’ll set them straight. I thought I had told everybody. Everybody that listens to me drops decarbonisation and similar stupidities and forever after wonders why they did such idiotic things beforehand.

Warmer weather, as we know, increases moisture in the air leading to rain, which Panama needs to fill the canal’s elevated parts.

It doesn’t look like there are enough idiots listening to you.
I wonder why, don’t they recognize a kindred soul?

It also cause drought, which is what caused the problem in the first place.

PS> It also cause more drought in dry areas and flood in wet parts of Australia:
