Deadliest Catch captains meet with the Coast Guard in season 19 premiere clip

Thanks to the skyrocketing prices of seafood, “we’re gonna see all kinds of people come out of the woodwork to get this money,” Captain Jake Anderson says in an exclusive clip from the season 19 premiere, above. Indeed, several new captains are joining the cast, including Linda Greenlaw, Sophia “Bob” Nielsen, and Jack Bunnell, with hopes of a big payday.

From Wikipedia:

Greenlaw was the captain of the Hannah Boden in October 1991 when Andrea Gail sank in the Atlantic in the 1991 Perfect Storm. Greenlaw’s efforts to warn the Andrea Gail about the impending storm were portrayed in Sebastian Junger’s 1997 book The Perfect Storm and in the movie version, in which she was played by Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio. Junger called Greenlaw not just the only female swordfishing captain, but “one of the best captains, period, on the entire East Coast.”[5]

In 1997, Greenlaw settled in Isle au Haut, and bought a lobster boat, the 35-foot Mattie Belle.[2]

I read Greenlaw’s first book, The Hungry Ocean, it was good. Probably going to watch at least some of the show tonight.

She was also on that show ‘Swords.’ Think it only lasted a couple seasons. That must have been at least 10 years ago.
