There’s a DPS checkpoint at the Louisiana border now,
You won’t be able to drive back in from Louisiana and flyout.
Here is one of them:
Tough call most definately. I really hope my company doesn’t mess with crew change days, because i really doubt if the guys that are staying home longer are going to get paid when they are off. Then there are those saying ’ its all the same, you’ll get your money back.’ I call bullshit on that, because who’s to say that crew changes get delayed months and not weeks? When every timeline expires, a new one will go into effect and thats the question on how many extensions on these shelter in place timelines there will be. I say make the money while you can unless you have a nest egg where missing a hitch won’t hurt you financially. The only foolproof way not to get covid19 is to stay home and not go anywhere, nor allow anyone in your household to do the same. How practical is that and for how long ?
That’s probably Aiviq and has pretty much been on the market since their contract with shell ended in Alaska.
Aiviq is in Tampa. I lived on that boat during hurricane Dorian for a few days, nice boat.
My thought too.
In any case, this is only one of many, both AHTS (14), PSV(34), FSV (9) and more specialized ECO vessels (9) that is on offer on the international market.
(I don’t see many takers though)
May I ask if you would please expand on this? Not quite sure what you mean to say.
I am anticipating the call to crew change next week, and will be flying. Not too excited at the thought of flying into MSY. Considering flying to a destination nearby (Houston? Memphis? Birmingham?), to rent a car to drive one way and drop off in Houma.
Our company has issued a letter to carry with us identifying as essential employees, exempt from the Louisiana Stay at Home proclamation.
Apparently they changed their mind about the checkpoints but this still has good information if you’re coming on from Louisiana (my bad)
