Cell Phone Signal Boosters

Do any of you have them on board? What kind do you use? How much does it improve cell service?

We have one. I don’t know what kind it is, and some guys claim it works great and others claim its useless. But, I’m about 6 miles off the beach now with pretty good service from AT&T. No clue if the thing is actually on though…

I have use them onboard tugs. I don’t remember the brand but they work! We used to lose signal at around 3-4 miles and after they installed it we had signal as far as 8-9 miles. We also had some tugs that didn’t get any signal in the galley even at the dock and after they got them they had full bars.

Sorry I can remember the brand! But good luck!

You should get a cell phone jammer instead for a few laughs, I mean who really wants to listen to a seaman’s personal calls?
