Hello im 21 years old and wanting to get into the merchant marine industry im located in jacksonville fl and was wondering what were some of your best apprenticeship schools and which ones would you recommend and how do they put you ahead? Any advice will help. Im leaning towards the siu apprenticeship program but please change my mind and point me in the right direction if you feel its necessary. Also im looking for long contract jobs such as work on a ship for x amount of months. Thank you
