Anyone with Chouest experince new hire has some questions
100#s for 8hrs??are they recruiting “deck apes” for line boats.
IMHO…lifting 100#s offshore=back injury=accident/injury report=lawsuit=management questioning why you allowed it to happen!!

**I am a strong believer in davits, dock cranes, tuggers, comealongs, chainfalls, gunn tackles and hand/pallet trucks…they all pay for themselves over the long haul.

**as to feminine ballast…prefer a rubenesque displacement hull with an ever so slight stern drag…no lite weight speed hull for me!!
I didn’t mean to elude that this is what the job involves, just that it is a screen out mechanism that they can use legally…I was told by both companies that lifting that much should never happen ,never the less, it is what is required…

as to feminine ballast goes, I prefer mine with dual bulbous bows…

Hi again
Well it seems there are no options, like hotels near Chouest/clinic that can offer a shuttle so looks like Im stuck with Chouest housing. Would have prefered to stay in a hotel and get some better rest. I dont want to rent a car, and then worry about driving there, returns ect.
I will have a long wait at the airport for pick up. arr1:00pm van doesnt come until 6:00pm Have any suggestions on another way to get there? Is the van a Choust van with company markings?
Please send some info.

150/90 is the cutoff for BP at Chouest. Either of those 2 over the limit and you don’t pass. The good news is that it is not the end of the line. They will tell you to go get a note from your doctor when you can “return to work” and have your BP under control.

I have been with Chouest for a little over 2 years and had offers from others in GOM. I believe that Chouest is the best all around.

Stay at housing if you want. You’re pretty much stuck if you don’t have a car, otherwise I’ve had really good luck at the Galliano Inn.

Good Luck

Thanks for the info on BP think I should be fine. Looks like housing for me. Do you know anything about the shuttle from airport. What does it look like ect

If for any reason you do decide to rent a car, check out Enterprise, which has one way rentals within LA. You could drop it off at Galliano. Check with your contact at Chouest for the company discount number.

A lot of Chouest captains stay at the B&B previously mentioned in this thread, I suspect for a reason.

I am not a Chouest employee, but have met them.

The Savannah Sparrow is widespread and ny asian escort abundant in open habitats throughout North America although, like other grassland sparrows, it is often overlooked because of its secretive habits. During the ny asian escort breeding season its persistent buzzy song can be heard in agricultural fields, meadows, marshes, coastal grasslands, and tundra. Insects and other arthropods are its main prey in summer; in winter and on migration its diet shifts to small seeds found on ny escorts the ground. Most populations are migratory, although salt marsh populations breeding in the southwest are mainly resident. As in many passerines, annual mortality of adults is about 50%. Adults tend to reoccupy the same breeding site, and in island populations birds ny escort commonly return to their natal site. Such strong philopatry has resulted in reproductive isolation and substantial geographic variation; 17 subspecies are currently recognized, including the Ipswich Sparrow, which breeds on Sable Island, Nova Scotia.

LOL,
C_A is that you? One way to beat the spam filters, I guess!
