Amy Beavers from MPT Passed Away

Hate to be bearer of bad news but we just got word that Amy Beavers from Maritime Professional Training has passed away. Amy and the MPT family have been HUGE supporters of gCaptain over the years so we very sad to share this news with you.

Many of you may know Amy personally as she was extremely involved in the maritime community here in the U.S. In April 2014 she was appointed Vice Chair of the Merchant Marine Personnel Advisory Committee (MERPAC). It is with the heaviest and saddest of hearts, that we share with all of you, that our beloved principal Amy Morley -Beavers has passed away. To everyone who knew her, she will be remembered as the bravest, smartest, passionate, most wonderful person. Her smile will be with us always and she will be missed forever… by all of us at MPT, by MERPAC, by Coast Guard agencies around the world, by the countless mariners and friends whose lives she touched.She was an inspiration to us all.
