American politics

Far fetched? The only world leaders who aren’t either laughing at him or barfing at his utterances are North Korean or Russian. They are playing him like a village idiot.

Honestly, If I switched the words “Trump” & “2016” from your above comment & inserted “Obama” & “2008” I could say I’ve heard it over 100 times before. We’re going to be okay, a few more months or 4 more years & it will be over. Lighten up Francis. It’s not that bad.

Recently Mitch McConnell made a statement that all of the Blue States should consider bankruptcy. (his stubborn refusal to consider financial aid to various states, what he calls a Blue State Bailout) A firestorm is brewing over this in American Politics now. Many are pointing at McConnell’s home state of Kentucky which depends on Federal money (some 40%) which is more than it generates for Federal Taxes. The Hypocrisy of McConnell is at a record level and McConnell has power and leverage that West Virginia’s Robert C. Byrd never dreamed of having. But Byrd did at least try to help the Appalachian Region.

It is brought out in this Yahoo article:

Cuomo Goes After ‘Really Dumb’ McConnell For Saying Some States Should Mull Bankruptcy

No respect internationally. That’s for sure. I travel a lot and I can’t tell you how many people have asked me to explain what’s wrong with Trump.

I hear "Why did you people elect Trump? and also hear “what’s his problem?”
I don’t have easy answers so I usually just say, “Oh, your almost out Ill get you another and do you like to fish?”

That’s good. I run a paint store! Nobody wants to hear that.

Which they legally cannot do.

So this is where the rest of Bloomberg’s campaign money went

The Republicans for the Rule of Law have a new one:

I know one Expat who tells me that the view from out side the USA looking in is radically different than the view from within the USA looking around.

When those who are outside the USA ask “What is wrong with Trump and you people who elected him” ??? Mention Putin’s role in the last election and a POTUS has a 4 year contract to serve. When you get a deranged/dysfunctional person in that position and he has “enablers” then you can imagine the mess the citizens have to deal with.

I’m presently reading thru this book titled “Dark Money” which describes how this whole mess (the hijacking of what was the Republican Party to the now Neo GOP.) has been coming together since Eisenhower left office in 1960. And Eisenhower warned Americans about it in his farewell speech. (and even speeches before then) The introduction is a brief overview of what has happened to us and who the guilty parties are.

Dark Money is a very good book !
The GOP and the Dems have changed as the oligarchy got more control. Richard Nixon would be considered a communist/socialist today. Goliath by Stoller is another good one and it is well reviewed by the conservative National Review magazine. The premise is when monopolies take control there is no more democracy. Eisenhower was very anti-monopoly. When I was a kid I remember the anti trust prosecutions which are something that one never hears of any more. The Dark Money won.

Dr. Birx looks like she is trying really hard not to throw up.

Or…
She could be mentally kicking herself: “Why haven’t we doctors thought of sticking glow sticks up our butts and main-lining Simple Green? The cure was right there in front of us!”

Or…she could be stifling a laugh, because she knew it was an April Fool’s joke, delayed because of, well, the pandemic and all.

She was cringing heavily. One thing to keep in mind is, all of these people see Trump “unfiltered”. We see Trump on his “best behavior”. Let that sink in a little bit.

You think there’s a difference?

There’s a difference. It’s been widely reported that in private, he screams, cusses and throws temper tantrums.

It bothers me that so many people still think Trump’s mental condition is not sufficient to have him removed from office before he does even more damage.

Maybe it’s time to rethink the whole ‘anybody can become president’ thing’.
