thinking about working for 3psc as 3a/e.i know the pay is at best average.does anyone know what kind of vacation days one might recieve per month?either way i realize im not going to make my first million but it beats living under a bridge.thanks
Are you a academy grad? if so keep looking. Plenty of work away from AMO. If not , go for the bridge its better than AMO, at least you wont feel robbed everyday.
no im not an academy grad but have been licensed for a long time.just doing some research for winter employment options.something different.im also pensionless so at this point i dont care, may as well go where its warm
Ahh I used to work there. Really fun job actually, great port calls unless your in the Persian Gulf. Great first deep sea job or to give you a roof over your head, even if its a cardboard box. If you are down and out its a place to go. I would say it is probably in the bottom 5 contracts I’ve heard about with AMO but also a great way to get your foot into the door. It is also a great way to get into other company’s with MSC training. Don’t knock it.
Plenty of work away from AMO
Why do people always bash the unions. I started out non union and then moved into the union. I am amazed at what some people outside the union pay medical, dental and vision alone compared to what I pay and considering my pay into the equation. Granted there are some very low union contracts but there are also some pretty good ones too. I know some people that have wracked up $20,000 to upgrade, union pays for it if your in it. Union always put something away for me. Just curious.

For those that understand why, no explaination is needed. For those that don’t understand why, no explaination will do.
Noble Drilling needs all levels of licensed engineers and the pay, rotations and benefits are much better that 3psc. Plus there are a buttload of brandnew drillships coming in the next three years!
My question is this…what the hell does 3psc stand for anyway?
3rd Party Services Company
Trust me, the contract is just one or two off the bottom of what I know but sailed for a lot longer on better paying jobs by almost 40%.
