Woke infiltrating KP

Hanna Arendt quotes – take your pick

“The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the convinced Communist, but people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction (i.e., the reality of experience) and the distinction between true and false (i.e., the standards of thought) no longer exist.”

“Before mass leaders seize the power to fit reality to their lies, their propaganda is marked by its extreme contempt for facts as such, for in their opinion fact depends entirely on the power of man who can fabricate it.”

Clichés, stock phrases, adherence to conventional, standardized codes of expression and conduct have the socially recognized function of protecting us against reality, that is, against the claim on our thinking attention that all events and facts make by virtue of their existence.”

“One of the greatest advantages of the totalitarian elites of the twenties and thirties was to turn any statement of fact into a question of motive.”

But my favorite

In an ever-changing, incomprehensible world the masses had reached the point where they would, at the same time, believe everything and nothing, think that everything was possible and that nothing was true. … Mass propaganda discovered that its audience was ready at all times to believe the worst, no matter how absurd, and did not particularly object to being deceived because it held every statement to be a lie anyhow. The totalitarian mass leaders based their propaganda on the correct psychological assumption that, under such conditions, one could make people believe the most fantastic statements one day, and trust that if the next day they were given irrefutable proof of their falsehood, they would take refuge in cynicism; instead of deserting the leaders who had lied to them, they would protest that they had known all along that the statement was a lie and would admire the leaders for their superior tactical cleverness.”

Wikipedia has a pretty good history on the term including how it’s recently evolved:

Woke - Wikipedia

But of course, it can mean different things to different people.

All written evidence of the “woke” initiative are chronicled and preserved on Hunter Biden’s Laptop and previously the 30k deleted Hilary emails! lol

If I recall…“A senior’s request is the same as a command.”

Pretty sure the use of ambiguity is also a way to cover this sort of thing. Then again, I see black helicopters regularly and don’t really trust many people, either.

I think I’m getting it. So these “Karens” I keep seeing mentioned are “woke” ? What’s the male version of a “Karen”?

I’m probably too old; Google had to tell me what “Karen” means.
It also told me that the male version is named “Ken”.

Well, I am not the biggest fan of DeSantis. I don’t particularly like his politics or tactics. A word to the wise. Florida gets a bad rap for " Florida Man" perceptions. Once you actually look at the sunshine state it is microcosm of the larger USA. Both coasts are more liberal ( maybe not the pan handle) and the center of the state is agriculture. The folks on the coasts make fun of the farmers in central Florida. And the diversity of Florida is much higher than most other states with a heavy Hispanic growth segment, Very similar to what exists in the larger country. In that environment Desantis actually crushed his latest competitor and carried one of the most liberal and hispanic parts of the state. You can hate him and you can call him a fascist and say he is the model " Florid Man" but I fear those who don’t take him seriously as a potential force on the national front are making a grievous error. As much as I may want a different candidate and pray that the Democratic Party may find its way and put up a real leader as their standard bearer. I suspect we may all be looking at " Ayatollah" Desantis as the republican nominee in in the next 18 months. And then your dismissive attitude about his woke agenda and how he utilized it as a response to Disney’s foray into gender politics ( not sure I think they should have come out that strong on the state issue) will be a precursor to a larger schism that currently exists in the country.

Dismissive? My attitude toward DeSantis is fear and loathing. He is a dangerous ideologue at best and more likely simply a dangerously effective authoritarian power seeker…The sooner he and his ilk join their despised predecessors of the 1930s the better the nation and the world will be.

Thats my point. In describing him like that you sound a lot like Rachel Maddow. Don’t shoot the messenger ( that what you sound like). Although you’re obviously a bright fellow, you sound just as bad as the the extreme followers of Desantis. Stay objective and less extreme in your criticism and I think you may win over more minds.

I stand corrected. You are right. I am wrong. I agree with you: some of Rupert Murdoch’s most popular and influential employees are liars. And you are right. They probably don’t lie about everything. But then skilled liars never lie about everything. The best lie always has a hint of truth.

We do know Murdoch’s employees lied again and again about a big thing–a national election. But we don’t know what else they lie about. Since they would lie about a big thing, why not small things? But not about everything. Hard to tell where the line is, isn’t it?

And RM’s most popular employee, Carlson, wasn’t caught in a lie about the election. He was caught by his own emails, in a lie about his admiration of P45, and the glories of P45’s administration. On TV Carlson says P45 is the greatest thing since sliced bread. George Washington and Winston Churchill and Taylor Swift all wrapped in the same burrito.

But what does Carlson say about P45 in private, to his fellow RM employees? “I hate him passionately.” And what does Carlson says about P45’s administration? “That’s the last four years… We’re all pretending we’ve got a lot to show for it, because admitting what a disaster it’s been is too tough to digest. But come on. There isn’t really an upside to [P45].”

So you’re absolutely right. I was incorrect. Murdoch’s employees only lie part of the time–to their viewers.

One last thing about the USAF supposedly ordering (insinuating?) officers/airmen to not call their parents mom-and-dad: We do all realize that we live in the real world, right? Populated by 328,000 real USAF officers/airmen. All with real brains and mouths. Some of them still in the USAF. Some mustered out. Free to say whatever they like. Blab their heads off. Express outrage and such

So why aren’t some of these officers/airmen on the air explaining how they were ordered not to say “mom and dad”? Talking to journalists about it? Hell, over 3,000 military personnel voluntarily quit because of fear of a covid shot. And they were damn vocal about their anger and intentions. They talked to people about it.

So how many are complaining and quitting over the supposed mom-and-dad order/insinuation thing? I’m not seeing it. Not in the real world, at least. 328,000 chances for the story to come out. 328,000 chances for corroboration, investigative journalism, and endless opinionating. Instead: Bupkis. Why?

Because it never happened. Just like the USAF said it never happened.

But that’s just the real world. And you won’t ever hear about it on anything Murdoch owns. And if you did, could you trust what you hear?

The training was issued force wide to all 328k members? No it wasn’t. Not interested in your spin bro.

I’ll repeat… The military doesn’t take the time to create and present training for any other reason than to TRAIN the participants of that training on what they want done. Period.

Well, gee. Pretty selective ordering/insinuating/Jedi-mind-tricks on the part of the woke USAF. Only, what? 30 people in the classroom received this outrageous lecture, out of entire arm of the military?

30 people out of 328,000? 0.009% of the USAF received this moral threat to the national fabric? Which the USAF categorically denies ever occurred.

And not one of the 30, 60, 100 whatever of the officers/airmen present concurs that they were told to stop using the term mom-and-dad? NO witnesses? NONE? Not one red-blooded officer, forced to spew the pap, later told the whole story? Not one disgruntled non-com who made up the powerpoint, or brewed the coffee, went on reddit and complained? No one speaking on any media?

Like it never happened. A crime without witnesses or victims.

But I’ll drop it. There will be more outrage tomorrow about something.

At least one… How’d the press get the slides?

Regardless, I was happy with the outcome. Once the story hit, the USAF promptly scrambled the PR dept faster than F-22’s over the Aleutian Islands to say ‘uh uh uh, of course that’s not what we meant’ so that says they know good and goddamned well how ridiculous the content of their slides was and still is.

SpaceX had an all female crew. Musk so woke!

A slightly different interpretation - they scrambled to head off a flurry of biased misinformed media reports that had little to nothing to do with what they were trying to accomplish in the presentation.

I think the spokesperson made a mistake defending the whole concept with diversity buzzwords. Better to just simple say it was a case of taking a single slide out of context and sticking with that message.

Not sure if a mistake or not - prob most of that is in the perception of the reciever. But it was probably intentional, and at least in my opinion, correct, not to avoid or omit that they feel no issue at all with the fact that they embrace diversity and will not accept discrimination. And airmen/and women should be senitive to these differences.

First of all, your demonstrated ability/willingness to respond here with your opinions in a measured, respectful, non-pompous, non-hyperbolic, non-prick-ish manner is noted, and a welcome breath of fresh air. As such, I will return that courtesy.

As you probably already know, I disagree with your interpretation. This administration starting from the top and all the way down through the various appointees (in this case, the branch starting with SECDEF and going down to the USAFA) have demonstrated that they embrace the ideas shown in those slides (often referred to as one type of ‘woke’ ideology). As such, they have earned no ‘benefit of the doubt’ that they weren’t fully attempting to alter/control the way their subordinates speak in the way shown on the slides.

This is a good thing that I have no problem with. But telling/implying/suggesting/CONDUCTING TRAINING that people need to say ‘X’ instead of ‘Y’ when Y has been the normal way of speaking for generations is OUTRAGEOUS (to me and many others at least) and needs to be called out/countered/STOPPED. Stopped not just because of this individual issue, but because it won’t stop here…it never does. The people pushing this agenda know no bounds/limits.

There’s that word again…outrageous…I find this to be outrageous without any convincing needed from any media outlet. What I DO need from media outlets is reporting on things that are going on. And that is NOT what you get from Fox’s competitors on many issues that matter to me.
