i would just like an input on the different academies, what makes Maine Maritime better than the other Academies?
Most people here can’t really compare because they only know one academy. As for maine, they have an exceptional reputation for engineers and their deck instructors and knowledgeable and helpful. They have many waterfront activities that if you are motivated and put in effort can give you a much better education. For example, if you put the time in after classes (no one will force you, you have to want it) you can be teaching small boat handling by the time you graduate. There is an actual tug boat with an actual loaded tank barge for training and to get you your TOAR and nothing to stop a deck kids from taking any engineering classes they want (diesel mechanics is good to know and welding is always fun). Same goes for engineers taking deck classes.
