I’m out here in the weeds again doing some research, and I’ve run into a bit of a road block, I’m wondering if anyone has a source as to where the Orange and white Information Regulatory Marks came from? It appears to be a holdover from the Uniform State Waterway Marking
System, but I lose the trail in the November 6, 1987 Federal Register. Anyone know where I should look to dig deeper? Plenty of info out there on the old lateral system, but anything I’m searching is just bringing up boating safety guides that copy and paste from the Light List.
