Hey all, been a long time reader here and finally sucked it up and enrolled in Texas A&M Maritime Academy going the deck route. For all intents and purposes I have no experience and no contacts in the industry. I don’t want to wait three years from now and go “oh shit! I should have been doing xyz this whole time while I was in school or working on this or towards that…” For all of you in the industry regardless of if you came the academy route or not what is your advice to me to be doing the next three years in addition to my schooling to be the most desirable candidate among my peers upon graduation and licensing? Thank you in advance to those who take a moment to give some genuine advice!
