Im from the Netherlands, but to be honest, why do Dutch people want to work on Dutch vessels if the wage is so low in comparison with foreign flag vessels?
Im still in school for third mate , but i really dont understand this except you speak the same language on board.
Because is you are working within a dutch company as a dutchy or belgian you have social security and the same wage you have at sea and when you are at home without reduction. This is within tug and offshore comanies and the dredging community. Also you get (as time passes) a permanent contract.
