Oh Dear, c.captain might have something to say about all that. Shoot, I liked it, Thanks catherder ( I like your name).
“swabbos” ye say?
Us Geezers, when we were Naval Zoomies in 68, took our fun when we could. US Merchant Seamen, back in the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s, had our shore times too but I don’t think it’s wise to post my pictures of the museums, and it’s occupants, I knew so well.

There is a common thread among all young folks called out to do the unthinkable, namely they take their joy when they can. To disparage the current crop of young men and women who are placing themselves in harm’s way, and who share with us the fun they have when they can, is not only wrong it tells the reader the author of such belittlements was never there.
You’re way off here…nothing wrong with joking around and singing. Done more than my share of that along the way but it was the CONTENT of the Gangnam Crap Videos that I object to (especially the grab crotch or sit on crapper in uniform scenes) There is a limit to what is and what isn’t appropriate for US federally supported “military” students.
THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!
I really must ask if even one of these miserable little PUKES have the slightest understanding of or appreciation for the US Merchant Mariner’s role in WWII and why that school they are getting a free ride attending even exists? To face being on watch in the engineroom and having one’s ship torpedoed in the mid Atlantic winter with little chance to be able to get out alive if that happened? To be aboard a ship filled with high explosives and have the enemy dropping bombs on your vessel knowing that one hit likely will cause a catastrophic detonation? To have to sign on for God alone knows for how long not knowing in anyway where you are bound for or when you’ll return…if ever?
THAT SIR, IS WHY I OBJECT TO THIS VOMIT!
.
I am actually growing tired of all this but need to make a simple closing statement here
This entire Gangnam Style diarrhea along with all the asinine parodies done by the various Federal Academies is just indicative of a world that is becoming so wrapped up in it’s “bread and circuses” of mindless entertainment and recreation. We see it every day with the likes of the Kardashians, Snooki, American Idol, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, ad nauseum. We have all lost sight of the world which preceded us and the sacrifices made by men and women to build cities, till the soil, win wars…to work and to work hard to survive and if lucky, to thrive. Having outlets beyond just work is important but it must be in balance and the scale has gone so far to the other direction that so many of us has no desire to truly work anymore and more importantly…to sacrifice for the common good. Fuck toiling in the fields, we want our MTV and we want in now!
I’m out…

Pray tell me that you are not serious SIR!
PLACING THEMSELVES IN HARM’S WAY?!?
You must be joking? @ KP? For the love of God, tell me you are!

For crying out loud, I’m talking about the NAVY VIDEO.
That stated, I find no problem with any of the videos although I agree with you about the KP frame shot in the shit house. I didn’t like it when I first saw it but to me it was not a show stopper.
My views on KP are well known and I haven’t changed my mind.
God c.captain. Just shut up already.
You know what actually. In honor of anti bullying month. c.captain is on a time out.

from the movie “Good Morning, Vietnam” ~
General Taylor: Woah, Dick, put the brakes on. I wanted to wait until airman left to talk with you. Dick, I’m transferring you.
Sgt. Major Dickerson: Transferring me? Where to sir?
General Taylor: You’re going to Guam.
Sgt. Major Dickerson: Guam sir? There’s nothing going on in Guam. Why Guam?
General Taylor: Dick, I’ve covered for you a lot of times cause I thought you were a little crazy. But you’re not crazy, you’re mean. And this is just radio
[goes to the elevator and laughs]
General Taylor: “More dire need of a blowjob than any white man in history.” That’s funny
And it has nothing to do with his stance on this video or this thread in general. He’s actually right. Service academies are a beast all their own. But my opinion is this America and college kids have the right to have fun. Anyway…
What I can’t stand is the constant yelling. He’s too loud. I dont like reading it. I don’t have time to read it. If I were a newcomer to the forums I wouldn’t even try. Luckily for us there is no other place like this anywhere and sometimes people need to get on and ask some legit questions. This is not a permanent thing and he will be let back, but the intimidation needs to stop. Same deal goes for everyone.
Sorry to sidetrack.

In a spirit of cooperation I deleted my “Good Morning, Vietnam” post, even thou I thought it was funny some folks may not.
Let’s carry on.
I don’t know what is more amusing. The video or the huge errors in spelling and diction . . .“wayed in on this”. . . . . . .
Fully concur with this point. The spelling errors are simply spectacular. They even managed to spell “Maritime” wrong. If I didn’t know where the video came from, I would have trouble believing that it was produced by students at a four year college in the United States. Unfortunately, the spelling and grammar errors track with what I see frequently from cadets and recent grads from this institution. I hope that they decide to go rogue and produce a Gangnam style video of their own: I have little doubt that it will be a train wreck and will end up being very funny for all the wrong reasons.
So much joy has been stripped from our industry in the years I’ve been going to sea that I don’t see any problem with those KP kids having a bit of fun. God knows they won’t have much fun after graduation.

If THAT isn’t the truth I don’t know what is. I’ve sailed through the Golden Era of US Maritime, sailed thought the disintegration of the US Maritime also, and became angry. This was not economics, it was a total walk away from the United States Merchant Marine by so called free enterprise who willfully abandoned the US Maritime Fleet. If Kings Point is/was the shining light of the United States Merchant Marine, KP did NOTHING to stem the tide. Can you imagine the Naval Academy allowing this to happen to the US Navy? Hell no, Annapolis is still the shining light of the US Navy. Where is KP today? Well, right now it’s Brown Water and Off Shore. Have fun young Cadets. I’m sorry my generation let you down.
God c.captain. Just shut up already.
I don’t know why, but I was laughing hard when I saw this.
