US Gaza Pier

The Pier trial is not worth $320 million to find out that it’s a failure.

If it had worked, it would have been worth $$$ billons to the Biden reelection campaign.

Fox News Digital has obtained satellite images showing the now-destroyed temporary pier the U.S. military installed on the coast of Gaza earlier this month.

The $320 million structure lasted roughly a week before choppy weather battered it apart. President Biden’s administration says it is working to repair the pier, but they offered no timeline for completion. The pier had been used as a conduit for delivering aid to Gaza.

The images show that less than a third of the pier remains intact, and there is no sign of the remnants of the deeper sections of the structure.

The U.S. announced that it was forced to suspend deliveries of aid to the pier on Tuesday, though much of the damage occurred prior to then.

Four vessels that had stabilized the pier broke off due to choppy waters earlier this week, leading to the deterioration.

Of the four stabilizing vessels that detached earlier this week, two of the boats floated northward and landed on a beach in Ashdod, Israel, while the two others remain anchored at the beach near the pier.

While the pier has been used to transfer roughly 569 metric tons of aid into Gaza, none of that aid had been delivered to Palestinians as of last week, the Pentagon confirmed.

The pier’s failure comes as Israel conducted a sizable operation in Rafah, with tanks rolling into the heart of the city for the first time since the war began.

Witnesses in Rafah told Reuters the Israeli military appeared to be using remote-operated armored vehicles, as there was no immediate sign of personnel in or around them. The Israeli Defense Forces did not comment on those reports.

there are no noncombatants in war

What is really interesting, is that this thread was split off from another thread that I started yesterday, which had absolutely nothing to do with this topic… yet this thread is still tagged as ‘started by me’ …

Very odd…

Can’t help but wonder if Hamas leadership called for the release of the remaining hostages, if this would end the war?

None of the above mentioned Gents is Jewish. Impossible even to think they are.
And even if they all are , they are as usual the pillars of truthfullness and objectivity providing ballanced and unbiased view .

I am not sure . It seems to me that expecting a/m qualities from all of them is like hoping TASS or RT will describe Puting as war criminal.
How can one be so naive ??

The laughing child is an accurate representation of your lack of basic historical knowledge, Discussion is way off topic and worthless to continue.

Your above comment is ignorant. By you logic you could say the same that the Jewish/ judeo values are incompatible with western or eastern civilization that are routed in Christian Values, right?

Maybe it’s the Crazy Zionists not strictly religious differences that are creating problems.

Communism is hard core too bud and there was a lot of Jewish people involved in Communism. I think it’s pretty ignorant you continue to categorize all Muslims into one group. But maybe you are one off those boomers referenced earlier in the thread.

Beer Captain, working with this kind of government stuff, that is not unusual for as long as i have lived on this planet. The commercial side of the maritime business is almost as bad. Many decades my engineers made good advice that fell on deaf ears. Ended up quick fix, costly later.

I thought we couldn’t assume anyone’s gender anymore?

As far as using family names to identify someone, my wife is a Jew and by default so are our kids. But she took my last name when we were married, does that mean she is no longer Jewish? Or am I just naive?

Looks like reading is not your speciality. Call me when your reading time will be not less then 3days. Meantime may I suggest reading also Winnie-the-Pooh for warm up.

So what kit do they use to cross the beach in foul weather and get lots of stuff ashore in an urgent conflict situation ? Tracks ? Ospreys ?

Biden’s cynical attempt to shed the “genocide Joe” label and salvage his election chances is reminiscent of a Keystone Kops comedy. If the food is stolen before it gets to the intended recipients, the gesture is a public relations sham. It doesn’t matter if it’s delivered via a pier that breaks apart in 3-foot waves, dropped from C-130’s or brought in on trucks or hovercraft.
Security on the ground is top priority and that’s going to take boots on the ground. The IDF can’t be trusted to do it, Hamas can’t be trusted either, the US says no boots on the ground. Who you gonna call?
The stated mission of the UN’s military troops “protection of civilians is at the heart of our mandate. Blue Helmets are protecting populations against threats and contributing to a secure environment” is the obvious answer. Where are they?

I remember reading years ago that even though our peace time army was a third of the size of the army in WWII. BUT, the army had TWICE the number of colonels the army had in WWII. Bloated bureaucracy, anyone?

The political aim of the IDF is to keep Netanyahu out of a courtroom by eliminating every Palestinian possible. It is no different than the Indian Wars of 1800s America when genocide was the objective. Every Palestinian death is a vote for Hamas, every dead child provides a reason to live long enough to see justice and a future that doesn’t include life on a reservation.

Remember the “missile gap”? Well, it looks like we might have a medal gap.

Hamas needs no additional incentive to proceed with its steadfast objective: to kill every single Israeli and wipe the country off the map.
Besides, are you claiming that Hamas was elected fair and square by popular vote?

The votes that have the greatest impact are not necessarily those on a ballot. Look at our own situation for an example.
