Sounds like the results of having a gang of “Philadelphia lawyers” in DC saying “I know what we can do” when you don’t know jack. Excellent article, BTW. Sorry to “go political” but I have read “The War On Our Warriors” and how the Pentagon has gone “political” and are seem to be far more concerned about everything BUT the “boots on the ground” that have to get down and dirty.
Continuing the discussion from US Army Soldier Dies from Injuries in Biden-Harris Gaza Pier Debacle:
Very sad to read about this young man and prayers for him and his family. Had no idea he had even been injured much less this critically.
What a boondoggle that pier was, not quite as bad as the Afghanistan withdrawal but another embarrassment for our Executive Branch and government as a whole.
I too am sorry to make this political but seeing as what today is, you can vote for 4 more years of this with special interests and those who would never put a boot on the ground without their own security running things, or vote for the other side with a strong and varied transition team not subject to special interests but truly looking to govern in favor of the American people.
“Excellent Article, BTW.” Really?
The reference to the shipyard workers seems an insanely long reach. The company has been sighted for lax safety policies in the recent past https://www.wavy.com/news/local-news/one-dead-another-hurt-during-incident-at-marine-hydraulics-international-in-norfolk/ Also, one of the victims families stated it was an elevator accident. https://www.wtkr.com/news/in-the-community/norfolk/family-of-shipyard-worker-who-died-on-the-job-in-norfolk-forever-scarred
When people start believing this kind of political BS it is a sign of a declining nation. When they pass it on they are contributing to the decline.
C’mon Capt. We all know like everyone else you were happy to see Trump try and help poor Macaulay Caulkin when he was lost in NY. it wasn’t until the establishment turned on him and made you believe he was the evil orange man that you started to hate him.
I’m sorry in advance, but I can’t let this one sit. If you want to be mad at the Gaza Pier debacle, I agree. But this article is an absolute abomination.
This marks the third death related to the Gaza Pier mission. Just days before Sgt. Quandarius Davon Stanley’s passing, Norfolk’s Marine Hydraulics International (MHI) reported that two shipworkers died aboard the USNS 2nd Lt. John P. Bobo, a Military Sealift Command ship undergoing repairs in connection with the Gaza aid mission
Are you seriously tying the tragic deaths of two shipyard workers in Norfolk, VA, to the Gaza pier, just because the ship they were repairing was previously scheduled to carry sections of the pier to Gaza? It didn’t even go! Because it caught fire, and needed repair, in the US. A tragedy in its own right related to the state of our fleet, but fu&K if that’s the biggest make-believe stretch in the world to say those yard workers were “deaths related to the Gaza Pier”.
As for the subject of the article, Sgt. Stanley, any fatality is one too many. But again, from the link it specifically states:
It’s unclear how exactly Stanley was injured, though officials have emphasized that it was not combat related. Stanley’s injury — as well as the minor injuries of the two other troops — were first confirmed by Vice Adm. Bradley Cooper, deputy commander of US Central Command, who told reporters in May one individual was “undergoing care at an Israeli local hospital. He was injured out on a ship at sea.”
In fact the quote from the Admiral is un-specific enough it makes it sound like it could have been a shipboard injury, not even on or at the pier. That’s a far jump to gCaptain articles:
And then there’s Sgt. Stanley—was injured on a floating pier in a war zone
I get it. The pier mission was messy. I revealed a lot of short comings of the uses of the pier itself, particularly the cost. Be mad. I would be. But if you want to be taken seriously, write serious shit, with integrity.
My exact evaluation after two careful readings.
What’s even more frustrating is it’s not that difficult to find out what happened. There was a handful of ships there, you can easily narrow down a few people from the ships and just ask… shit I found out pretty soon after what actually happened, yet a US based maritime “news” agency can’t figure it out 5 months later?
Same with this one. You don’t have a contact at MHI or Crowley who could give you the story of what happened? Has nothing to do with Gaza or the pier sections. Could’ve happened anywhere on any ship.
Maybe this shameless shilling will end in a day? It kind of ruins the rest of the site, if THIS article can be so far off reality, what about the rest?
Johnny Drillship is hoping for a job if Trump wins.
